We are dedicated to providing quality care to our community, and we make our hospital run every day. But our pay, benefits and staffing don’t reflect our essential work, and too often we’re not treated with the respect we deserve. We’re struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living; our healthcare is unaffordable even though we work for our insurance company; we’re overloaded with patients and duties that make it hard to do our best; we have little job security and have seen our coworkers outsourced; and many of us are subjected to unfair policies, management favoritism and mistreatment.

 

While we’ve been hurting, Corewell has grown into the largest healthcare corporation in our state with almost $1.3 BILLION in profits last year, and executives at the top are getting rich.

 

To advocate for themselves and their patients, Corewell nurses formed their union and won a strong contract. U of M Hospital workers voted to join SEIU Healthcare MI and also won an incredible contract with 23% average raises over three years, and other major improvements. We’re just as essential as nurses and U of M workers. We can’t afford to be left behind and unprotected, especially with the rising cost of living and possible future cuts coming from Corewell.

 

There’s strength in numbers, and with our union we will have a seat at the table to negotiate better wages, benefits and working conditions. THIS IS OUR TIME to win a strong voice for each other, our families, our patients and our community!
